I decided on the genuine Lexus all-weather floor mats for my 2014 Lexus IS 250. All-weather rubber floor mats are great for keeping your car clean in wet and snowy weather. They make cleaning easier and are more durable than your typical carpeted floor mats. This is great if you have kids.
Cleaning: Rubber floor mats are easier to clean than standard carpet floor mats. For light cleaning, you can just vacuum and wipe down the mats with a moist cloth. If they are really dirty, just remove them from the car, hose them off, and wipe them dry.
Durability: Rubber floor mats are more durable than the carpet floor mats. Over time, the carpet wears faster than all rubber floor mats, especially where your heel is propped for the accelerator pedal.
Looks: How they look is subjective. Personally, I think the carpet floor mats looks more plush, warm and elegant. The rubber looks cooler and more sporty. In either case, it does not look good when are dirty and worn. It looks worse if they are generic non-fitted floor mats. It can make the car look cheap and thoughtless, especially on a car like the Lexus IS 250 (or its variants, like the IS 350 and the F Sport trims) with countless hours of expert design considerations.
The pictures in this article applies to all of the third generation Lexus IS variants, mainly the Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) version of the IS 250, IS 250 F Sport, IS 350, and IS 350 F Sport. If you have one of the All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) models, it looks slightly different due to the larger drivetrain components under the car. Therefore, there are two different part numbers for the RWD and AWD models, so make sure you select the right one for your car. They are not interchangeable.
